The beginning of 2024 has seen the emergence of two viral stories featuring tall aliens, captured in heavily pixelated videos. Both incidents, occurring in early January, have fueled increased public interest in aliens and paranormal phenomena, likely influenced by Congress's recent hearings on UFO testimony.

In one instance, a fight among teenagers outside a Miami mall on New Year's Day led to mass panic due to mistaken fireworks, sparking rumors of tall extraterrestrials roaming the mall. Another video, filmed on the Brazilian island of Ilha do Mel, claimed to show blurry figures walking on a hill, adding to the speculation.

The trend of blurry footage depicting large aliens raises questions about the public's fascination with extraterrestrial encounters. It appears that the surge in interest is connected to recent UFO testimonies and the influence of media figures discussing extraterrestrial lore.

Despite the irony and memes surrounding these stories on social media platforms like TikTok, the heightened interest in aliens reflects a desire for something beyond the mundane, driven by the current news cycle and daily challenges. As supernatural beliefs rise among the younger generation, platforms like TikTok contribute to the spread of paranormal content, blurring the lines between entertainment and belief in the unexplained. Only time will tell if the "tall aliens" trend continues throughout 2024, perhaps accompanied by higher-resolution videos.
